Ilminster Indoor Bowling is one of the most successful clubs in South Somerset. Ilminster Indoor Bowling Club was founded in 1969. One of the earliest indoor clubs in Somerset. In 1972 Bryn Mattravers won the E.I.B.A Championship, followed by The British Isles Championship in 1973.More success followed as Bryn Mattravers and John Wiseman were selected to play for England in 1973 and 1974. John Wiseman continued to play for England in 1975.
Ilminster has a three-rink indoor green which was re developed from two rinks in 2007 .

EIBA international Louis Ridout has played for the club in recent years representing the club at national and international level. Ilminster is now joined by World Number 3 Robert Paxton, who currently hold a World Bowls Gold Medal and is current EIBA singles champion. Rob who also represents England in the International series .

The club play a large amount of internal league during the week which is around 600 games throughout the indoor season as well as the EIBA club and national competitions and the Somerset county league and double rink competitions.
